He said “Good morning” to me with a crooked, toothless smile

Lately He don’t look so good, like He don’t have a prayer
He comes in a lot of faces, He speaks in many tongues
Showing up in the strangest places, just looking for some love

I think I saw Jesus, this time He was a She
All dressed up like a working girl, down on Bourbon Street
She said “We’re all junkies for something, looking for a fix.
Yeah, we’re all pimping something; we’re all turning tricks.”

I think I saw Jesus and I’ve been seeing Her everywhere
Lately She don’t look so good, like She don’t have a prayer

Showing up in the strangest places, just looking for some love

And there’s a preacher on the TV set, he says “Put Jesus in your heart.”
And you can buy a prayer from him and put it on your Master Charge
You don’t have to be a weatherman to read this here forecast
That sucker wouldn’t know the King of Kings if He kicked him in the ass
